Easter is coming

 

Hi and welcome to my blog.  I am having a wonderful day and decided I needed to make some Easter cards for my downline meeting.  The girls loved it.  The card is a pocket card with the outside being Wild Wasabi card stock (4 1/4 X 11 1/2" and scored at 1 1/4" and at 5 1/2").  I made the pocket by folding at the score lines and putting a slim piece of Snail adhesive on the sides to hold it closed.  I also tied a piece of the Ice Cream Parlor Ribbon around it to give it more color.  The inside card is 3 1/2 X 4 1/2".  I punched the bunny out of Whisper White cardstock using the Blossoms Petal Punch.  The ears are punched in Pink Pirouette.  I drew the face on the bunny with my markers.  I'm no artist - can you tell?  The eggs are punched from scraps of designer paper in Easter colors using the Large Oval Punch.  That punch is perfect for Easter eggs.  The words are from Easter Blossoms stamp set.  Soooo simple to make, so you can make several and send them to your friends.  Blessings, Martha

Heartfelt Thanks Card

 
I saw a similar card on the internet and I decided to make a card with the design but tweak it so that it would be mine.  The card is Baja Breeze embossed with the Finial Press embossing folder for the Big Shot.  The designer paper is ------ you guessed it-----  Paisley Petals.  I made the flower with the Fancy Flower Extra Large punch and Baja Breeze cardstock.  I spritzed the flower with water and balled it up into a ball and then opened it and let it dry.  I punched 2 flowers and layered them with a copper colored glitter brad.  Heartfelt thanks is stamped with Fabulous Phrases.  You'll come back to see me.  Blessings, Martha

Another Paisley Petals card

 

This Designer paper is so beautiful.  I cannot stop playing with it.  The weather here is too wonderful to be inside but this paper has me so excited that all I want to do is stamp.  Even the quilt I am making for Joe (Civil War Quilt) cannot not make me stop stamping.

This is a generic card that could really have any words on it. The words are from Teeny Tiny Wishes punched with the modern label punch. I used Baroque Burgundy and Not Quilt Navy card stock for the base.  I punched holes around the Navy and outlined with the white gel pen to make it look like I sewed it.  Crumb Cake (3 1/4 X 4 1/4") is the cardstock just behind the Paisley Petals designer piece (3 X 4").  I made a bow with Crumb Cake seam binding and a vintage brad. This was fast and easy.  I like fast and easy. Thanks for looking, Martha

Paisley Petals

 
I have been playing in my stamp room today.  I have made several cards with the new Paisley Petals Designer Paper that will be on special next month.  You can purchase the Designer Paper and a stamp set with a $20 order in April.  This paper is really beautiful.  Have you ever been to Williamsburg, VA?  If you have, this paper is similar to the designs in all the Williamsburg decorations for the home.   

I made this card with Baja Breeze as the base.  I ran it thru the Big Shot using the Finial Press Embossing Folder.  I cut a piece of Baroque Burgandy about 1 1/4" wide and layered it on the card.  The designer paper is 2 1/2" X 4".  I ruffled the Baja Breeze seam binding by pulling a string in the middle to make the ruffle.  The length is about 2 -3 times the width of the card depending on how full you want your ruffle.  I stamped the words using the Four Frames stamp set and the Watercolor Trio stamp set and Baroque Burgundy ink.   I colored the pearls with a sharpie that closely matched the Baroque Burgundy ink.

Paisley Petals

Today I made a simple card with the new Paisley Petals designer paper from Stampin' Up!  I love this paper.  It reminds me ov patterns I see in Williamsburg, Virginia.  It's very vintage and it has all the beautiful new colors.  I started with Crumb Cake cardstock and layered Baja Breeze cardstock.  I cut the designer paper 3 3/4 X 5" from one corner of the 12 X 12 sheet.I stamped a butterfly saying on the paper in Night of Navy and added a bow in Baja Breeze seam binding and secured it with a brown brad.  I stamped the butterfly in Not Quite Navy and colored with the same ink and Pear Pizzazz.  This is a quick and easy card - 5 minutes max.  Thanks for visiting today.  Blessings, Martha  

Springtime Smiles

 
Hi there, long time no see.  I have been doing my taxes and have not been able to get into my stamp room.  Well, I'm finished now and they are filed.  I just hope they are right.  I started off tonight with a simple card.  I have been wanting to use the Ice Cream Parlor Designer paper that I received free from Stampin' Up!.  It has designer paper and adhesive backed cardstock (stickers)in the package.  My card is Pink Pirouette and I layered white cardstock stamped with the Well Worn background stamp in Melon Mambo.  I used some of the stickers to fill the card.  The words are from the Easter Blossoms stamp set.   I hipe you like it.  Come back tomorrow for another card.

Scrapbook Pages for March

 

Hi stamping friend... I am so glad you have come for a visit.  This is my scrapbook club pages for March.  I used the  Newsprint Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Stampin' Up! as the actual pages.  The background is vanilla, so I used Very Vanilla cardstock for the borders.  I cut Real Red and Basic Black cardstock into 1 1/2" strips (2 red and 2 black).  I ran these strips through the Big Shot using the Tasteful Trims die.  I cut all 4 at one time.  It is really great that the Big Shot cuts so many layers at one time. (In quilting, I can cut 8 layers at once...a real time saver.)  I cut some black and red cardstock for my pictures and layered it on the DSP.  I added a 1/4' Basic Black grosgrain ribbon to the second page and added some of Stampin' Up!'s Basic Pearls.  They look so pretty.  My flower on page 1 is made in Real Red and the new Fun Flowers die for the Big Shot.I used all three flowers in the layer, misted lightly and crumpled up, then allowed to dry. The leaves were cut using the Island Floral die.  I folded the leaves in half lengthwise and ran them through the crimper.  WOW that looks good.  I put a dimensional in between each layer of flower to raise the petals.  The other flowers are made with the Paper Flowers in the current catalog.  I sponged them in Real Red and added buttons tied with linen thread using glue dots.  Happy Birthday is a die purchased online.  I hope you love the pages.  My clubs meet this week and we will be making these pages.  Why not join one of my scrapbook clubs and make some pages with us.  Also, I am having a Open Crop/Scrapbook day on March 18, 2011 in my Stamp Room.  Email me if you are interested and I will give you the details.  Blessings, Martha
