Joe and I returned from our Alaska trip with Stampin' Up! a week ago. It was the MOST fabulous vacation. We stayed in Seattle a couple of days after the cruise to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. We each deserve medals for putting up with each other for 45+ years. I want to show you some of our breath taking pictures. I am not a photographer, so keep that in mind.
This is Ketchikan, Alaska. It was our first stop. Joe and I walked around town and viewed the sights. It is a quaint little town. This is our second visit to Ketchikan (2003 was the 1st)
Next day, we cruised up the Tracy Arm Fjord in the morning. There was ice floting everywhere. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. We had a balcony in our room, so we took pictures from the balcony. I should have put on my coat and walked to the bough of the boat and took pictures from there. In the first picture you can see the iceburg in the top left corner. In the other picture was the rock formations caused by icebergs and there were waterfalls coming down everywhere. I guess I should say frozen waterfalls. The temperatures were always in the 50's so it was never very cold.Ice was floating everywhere and the passage was narrow. The closer we got to the iceberg, the more floating ice. I could not tell if the larger chunks were smaller icebergs or just large chunks floating.

That same day, we docked at Juneau, Alaska. This is a fun town. We could not wait to return to the Red Dog Saloon for some whimsical entertainment. We laughed so hard at the piano player's jokes. What a fun day. Joe loved this place so I took a picture of hem outside the door. Click on the pictures and they should get bigger.
Off to Skagway. Joe was particularly interested in seeing the trains there. You know he loves trains. In Skagway, I bought a ring at Diamonds International. It is a beautiful opal ring (not my birthstone). Just a little memento to remember the times in Alaska. The other picture is our ship docked in Skagway.

I will continue with pictures tomorrow. Thanks for visiting my site. Blessings, Martha
