I made another Quilt

I decided on Monday to make a quilt for a Christmas present.  it is the first time I quilted a quilt on my sewing machine using the patterns in the machine.  It turned out beautiful.   Check it out>>>>>

I am so amazed what my sewing machine will do.  Quilting is my second crafting love right behind stamping.  I finished it on Friday night just in time to give for a Christms gift.  I can't wait to begin another one.  This one was pretty easy.  But for now, back to preparing for my January card clubs and my scrapbook clubs.

My Calendar

I made my own calendar this year.  I'm so tired of the calendars you buy at the office supply house.  They are so business like and no decorations.  I printed the calendar from Outlook and decorated two piectes of heavy paper that is in the designer series paper pack.  It's so cute.  i am so happy to save myself $20 that I normally spend on calendars.  This one is so bright and cheerful.  You can make one too by just gathering a calendar and some designer paper.  I have a binding machine to put it together with.   Have a beautiful day.  Martha

Scissors Holders in Fabric

I have been sewing this weekend.  My church, Pilot Baptist on NC 39, Pilot, NC, is having their 2nd Annual Quilt Festival and Craft Faire on Saturday, November 24 from 8 AM - 1 PM.  I will be selling these darling scissors holders.  Aren't they cute.  I also have made a table top runner, several wall hangings that are quilted and ready to hang, and some other items you will love.  All the proceeds go to our new Family Life Center  that is to begin construction soon.  Please come out and help us by purchasing Christmas gifts and lots of handmade stuff (food too).

The scissor holder is made using the Petal Cone die (121810) .  First you will need our fabric adhesive (122194) between 2 coordinating fabrics ( pages170 and 171 in our catalog) then cut to 6 X 6".  Cut out with the petal cone die, then cut off the piece on the side that is used in paper cones. Sew together and press the front top down.   Cut 2 coordinating scallop circles or flowers (Flower Folds die (115970), Fun Flowers Bigz die (121812 or Blossom Party (115971) or the scallop circles 2 die from last year's catalog.  You will need some Bakers twine in any color that coordinates or white (124262) and a Vintage Faceted Designer button (127555).  I used a big craft needle, threaded the twine and sewed the button to the top of the petal cone folded back and tied the bow.  You are done.....  It all takes less than 1/2 hour.

A little Christmas gift

 

Here is a little Christmas gift for you to make and it's cheap...... but darling.  I used a 1/2 sheet of Chocolate Chip cardstock.  Fold the cardstock in half and then on the front, score it diagonally and fold toward the inside.  Punch 2 circle holes on the side to hold the ribbon.  Apply sticky strip to the bottom and add the ribbon to close the pouch.  I used the Sweater Trim from Stampin' Up in Cherry Cobbler as my ribbon.  Don't you just love the names of the colors? The Sweater Trim comes in Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White.  It is stretchy and so cute.  You can even dress up your packages that you give for Christmas.

I added a bit of Be of Good Cheer designer paper across the front.  I punched a 2 1/2" circle in Crumb Cake and adhered it with dimensionals.  I inked up the cup in Gumball Green and removed the drink portion in the cup with a blender pen.  I colored the drink with my Soft Suede marker, huffed it and then stamped it on Very Vanilla.  I stamped the candy cane in Cherry Cobbler and the steam in Basic Gray.  I cut those out using the Holiday Collection framelits.  I cut a slit in the middle of the hot chocolate in the cup so I could insert the steam and the candy cane.   I adhered them to the card with dimensionals.  You know me, I had to add some glitz so I put a rhinestone in the middle of the snowflake on the cup.  I added a package of hot chocolate to the pouch.  Woo Hoo I have a easy gift.  How do you like it?

Give Starbuck's Coffee to a friend

Oh how I love Starbucks coffee.  Their Pumpkin Latte' is so very tasty.  They are selling packs of coffee in a box of five.  I made a little pouch for you to make for a friend who is also a coffee lover.

I made the box using the Petite Pocket Die for the Big Shot.  The designer paper is from Stampin' Up's Howlstooth & Scaringbone (126906) designer paper.  I used a Very Vanilla strip 1 1/4" X 5 1/2" and stamped it with the border stamp in our Full of Blessings set. I colored it with various ink pads and the Aqua Painter.  I cut some leaves out of So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie cardstocks using the Autumn Accents Bigs Die.  I sponged the edges of the leaves and stamped the words in Early Espresso ink.  I tied a bow with the Vanilla Seam Binding and attached it with a glue dot.  I hope you enjoy making one of these 3-D items soon.  Your friends will love you for giving it to them.  It's a fabulous little rememberance.

The note cards (item 107311) come in a pack of 20 and includes envelopes for a small price of $6.95.  This is the best deal that Stampin'Up! has. Imagine purchasing 20 cards for such a little price. Bright Blossoms (125495W,125497C) is a new set in the 2012-2013 Catalog and Idea Book from Stampin' Up!.  The new book comes out June 1.  YEA!  It's a great idea book.

Valentine Frame

Here is a frame I made my friends at Leadership.  I used lots of glitz.  I purchased the frame at the Dollar Tree some time ago.  I am a hoarder so I have lots of stuff in my closets.  I cut various hearts out using our punches and the new framelits  Hearts Collection.  I also used the framelit Labels Collection for the words in the center.  I needed to stick the glimmer paper to the fram outlining the smaller inside frames and could no figure out how to do it so the glue would not show.  Liz was over and she suggested I put the Sticky Sheets on the back of the glimmer paper and then cut the strips in 1/8" increments.  That worked great. I put them together and NO glue showed.  Thanks Liz.  You are a great friend.  The background paper is First Edition Specialty Paper and the doily is cut and quartered in Real Red.  I hope you like it.  I hope they like it too.  Blessings, Martha

Leadership Gifts

Stampin' Up!'s Leadership is in San Antonio, Texas this year.  I can't believe I will get to see Riverwalk.  I have read about it in Southern Living and I have always wanted to go and see the sights and eat in the wonderful restaurants.  Now is my chance.  I am going out a day early so I am writing this before I leave.  I made some 3-D items for my downline.  I did not want to post them before I left because I don't want them to see the gifts until I give them out.  I had some little square containers on hand, so I used the new Designer Rosette die for the big shot.  This is a big die and the rosette is large and has a different edge on each sied.  I wanted it to be smaller so I cut it at 2" on each side lengthwise.  The center part I saved for another day.  I made the rosette usting Twitterpated Designer paper.  I punched a flower out of the glimmer paper using the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch and added a button to finish.  I hope they like their gifts.  Blessings Martha

We had a business share at 11:30 one night.  This is the desserts they served.  The glasses were special Stampin' Up! Plus One glasses.  Plus One is our theme this year.  I had so many desserts to eat and gained a few pounds for eating them, but WOW, I enjoyed it.  The samples share was fabulous.  Here are some of the samples.  I am sorry I can't give credit where it is due because I didn't write the names down.

You know I love quilting so I was interested in these designs.

 

Here is a t-shirt made by Christie Harsch. She used My Digital Studio and printed on transfer paper and ironed it on her t-shirt. She had several samples and all were just beautiful. Great job Christie.
