My Latest Quilt

I made a new quilt and gave it to my niece.  We both love tea and so I thought she might like a quilt with teapots on it.  It turned out beautiful.  Quilting is my second love next to my rubber stamping.  I stamp more than I quilt - all crafts are wonderful.  God gave each of us the ability to craft.  All you have to do is try and it will come to you.  You will make new friends along the way.  Have a blessed day.  Martha

Liz quilting

Today I held a Quilting with the Big Shot Class...  I had 3 in attendance.     Liz, Kathie and Karen went home with a beautiful quilt top.  Here is Liz with her gorgeous pink quilt.  She did a fabulous job and she has never made a quilt before.  As a matter of fact, Karen had never made one before either but Kathie has made some quilts.  Have a great day.  Martha

 

I made another Quilt

I decided on Monday to make a quilt for a Christmas present.  it is the first time I quilted a quilt on my sewing machine using the patterns in the machine.  It turned out beautiful.   Check it out>>>>>

I am so amazed what my sewing machine will do.  Quilting is my second crafting love right behind stamping.  I finished it on Friday night just in time to give for a Christms gift.  I can't wait to begin another one.  This one was pretty easy.  But for now, back to preparing for my January card clubs and my scrapbook clubs.

Quilting with Martha and her Big Shot Die Cutting Machine

This quilt is made with the Candy Cane Christmas fabric that is on the Clearance rack now.  It takes 8 packages.  You will still need a piece of fabric for the center piece and for the backing as they are large pieces and the facbric packs are 3  larger than fat quarter pieces.  The top can be made, from start to finish, in less than 4 hours.  It is quilted by a long arm quilter.  It is a shabby chic quilt.  Hope you like it.  You can order the fabric at my website http://stamp4martha.stampinup.com and click the shop now button, then clearance rack.  One package is $.99 so it's a great deal.  Hurry before it is all gone.  Blessings, Martha

Look at all the beautiful quilts we made in quilt class in Virgina.  Everyone was so happy.  Look at all the smiles.  Some of the girls had not used their sewing machine for a number of years.  We cut out the circles with the Scallop Circle and Scallop Circles 2 for the Big Shot.  There is very little sewing on this quilt.  We glued the circles on the fabric with Stampin' Up!'s glue stick.  The quilt is then quilted by the owner or it is taken to some one who has a long arm quilting machine.  I would love to teach everyone how to make this beautiful quilt.  It takes about 4-5 hours to get it ready for the quilter and then another 3.5 hours to put the binding on.  Enjoy your day.  Email me if you would like to make a quilt of your own.

More Fun Quilts with the Big Shot

 

Oh my gosh.... I am loving this quilting with the Big Shot so much that I went out and bought me a new Bernina with my stamp earnings.  WOW it does everything except wash dishes.  I am loving every minute of it.  You can make one of these quilts by coming to my class.  The pink quilt is a Seminole pattern and it took years to do the top.  I cut some butterflies with the Big Shot and added it to the quilt.  This is Karen's quilt.  She loves butterflies.  I will give it to her when the weather starts to get cold. 

The blue pansy quilt is made with the Scallop Square and the Scallop Circles #2 die for the Big Shot.  It took less than 10 hours to complete.  It is so easy.  I have a quilt class scheduled for July 31, 2010 at 10 AM.  The fee for the class is $25. I will send you the yardage measurements for you to pick and purchase your fabric.  We will make the top in about 3 hours and it will be ready for you to quilt at home or send to the long arm quilter (approx $130 to quilt).  Jeanne McBrayer does my quilting and she is super.  Her designs are mostly freehand.  Sign up soon for the class.  Thanks for looking today.  I will try to post more in the future.  Blessings, Martha
